Kingdom of the Night I: Call of Evening

I lay in bed awake and trembling.
Beset by horrors from my visions.
Inside the pipes the water gurgled
Inside the flesh, my heart beat quickly.

My paranoia tightly wound,
The clockwork organ in my chest.
Soon drum rolls to a celebration
Soon drum rolls to a decimation

There is no sweetness in this realization

Eternal rest and body crumbling.
And there’s no certainty to cling to.
And madness sings repulsive truth.
Sing to a new damnation, sickly.

Sing. The heart cannot be soothed.
Sing while they bleed from the incisions
Embrace your joy, the voices softly murmur
While you embrace without sincerity, untruth.

I’m sorry. I’m sincerely sorry.
I’m scared, I fear I do not know.
The blood under the door gap gurgled.
The blood in veins as it flows through me, froze.

The beating of my heart came faster.
The beating on the threshold door.
The beating drums of celebration.
This is the first and final test.

There is no celebration without sacrifice.
The pyres burn deepest in the Spring.
The sounds of popping firecrackers,
Serenity and deepest sin.
