Hotpot

Hotpot. Hungry, tired and waiting.
Soon the hunger will be sated.
Soon we will be celebrating.
Hotpot, yummy food.

Greatest gift that is the sharing,
Food is life, and food is caring.
Friends bring feasts and feasts bring food,
Hotpot is the greatest good.

Silver cauldron in two slivers,
One is spicy, other ‘s sweet.
Swimming faintly, bobbing softly
Wondrous cooked and tasty meat.

Golden leaf and barge a’ plenty,
Carrying rice and crab afloat,
Tofu melting like a cloud,
In the softly gurgling moat.

Fish now glimmer oh so many,
Floating in the broth all round,
Soaking all the dates and chili,
Net that brings them now a-ground.

Such a feast you have bestowed me
In the kindness that you’ve shared,
Spinach forests in the deep sea,
I am touched by what’s prepared.

Thank you friends, for the great Hotpot
Thank you for the gracious host.
